American Airlines Announces New Service at Des Moines International Airport
American Airlines will start nonstop service to LaGuardia Airport starting June 2, 2023
Des Moines, Iowa (January 30, 2023): The Des Moines International Airport welcomed an announcement from market-share leader American Airlines with plans to launch nonstop service from Iowa to New York’s LaGuardia Airport starting Friday, June 2nd.
“New, nonstop service is a win for passengers and a win for our state,” said Des Moines Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin Foley. “Connectivity is essential for a vibrant economy; this new service demonstrates the growing demand for leisure and business air service in Central Iowa.”
American Airlines will be the second carrier providing nonstop service to LaGuardia Airport from the Des Moines International Airport. The new service will be operated daily on an Embraer ERJ-175, offering 76 passenger seats per flight, departing at 6:30a.m. CST arriving in New York at 10:10a.m. EST.
“American Airlines is thrilled to connect Des Moines International Airport to New York’s LaGuardia Airport this summer,” said Philippe Puech, American Airlines Director of Domestic Network Planning. “This new daily flight brings our service from DSM to six destinations this summer. We’re excited to offer customers more ways to experience all that New York City has to offer and provide local residents with additional access to American’s global network.”
The new service to New York will be the seventh destination served by American Airlines from the Des Moines International Airport. American Airlines offers nonstop service to Charlotte, NC (CLT); Chicago, IL (ORD); Dallas, TX (DFW); Phoenix, AZ (PHX); Washington, DC (DCA); and seasonal service to Miami, FL (MIA). Tickets to LaGuardia are now on sale at www.aa.com.
