Allegiant Adds Two Routes to DSM’s Nonstop Flight Roster, One Brand New to Des Moines

November 18, 2025

Des Moines International Airport travelers will soon enjoy a new, easy gateway to the Los Angeles area with Allegiant’s latest announcement. Beginning in May, Allegiant will launch nonstop service to Burbank, California (BUR), and will also add new nonstop flights to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHL), further expanding the airline’s strong and
growing presence at DSM.

“Allegiant continues to be an outstanding partner for Des Moines International Airport, and we’re excited to see the airline expand again with new nonstop service to Burbank and Philadelphia beginning next May,” said Brian Mulcahy, Chief Executive Officer of the Des Moines Airport
Authority. “Allegiant has grown significantly at DSM over the past several years, and their success here shows just how strongly our community responds to convenient, affordable travel options.”

Nonstop to Burbank, CA (BUR)
The new service to Hollywood Burbank Airport offers Iowans a second way to reach the Los Angeles region on Allegiant in addition to their service to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana.

Burbank is known for its convenience, shorter drive times to popular attractions, and easy airport access. The airport sits in the heart of the media district, near major studios like Warner Bros. and Disney, and is just minutes from Hollywood, Griffith Park, and Universal Studios. For travelers looking for an easy connection into the north side of L.A., Burbank offers a relaxed alternative while still delivering quick access to some of Southern California’s most iconic destinations.

Nonstop to Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
Allegiant’s new Philadelphia flights will operate twice weekly, creating an affordable and convenient connection to one of America’s most historic and culturally rich cities. Philadelphia offers travelers the chance to explore landmarks such as the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, while also enjoying a vibrant culinary scene known for both classic comfort food and acclaimed restaurants.

“These new routes build on the existing momentum, offering Iowans even more nonstop choices while supporting continued growth for both the airline and our airport,” added Mulcahy.
